Journey in Italy, starting from the concept DON'T WASTE TIME, focuses on the theme of the individual and the single. In an era in which everyone's life and time is marked by technology, often in the frenzy of large cities, it is essential to reverse one's point of view, starting to face a concrete and not virtual present, not wasting moments and giving value to one's time: each person must be ready and take advantage of life's opportunities with gratitude, aiming for one's own well-being and then spreading it, through the good for others and the sense of community.

Live your time intensely, and share it with joy. Together with others. And this is exactly the spirit that inspires Journey in Italy: to promote the happiness of the individual, capable of living every moment of life with strength, determination and with a good dose of respect, joy and gratitude towards society. For this reason, the objective of Journey in Italy can be summarized in the motto HERE AND NOW, FEELING GOOD: FOOD AS A LANGUAGE OF JOY AND PEACE, which the creator of the project Antonella Bondi, together with her team, wants to share with the general public and institutions. A motto that includes, in addition to individual taste, concepts such as environmental sustainability, design, comfort, pleasure of sharing, brotherhood.

Beyond globalization, beyond the consumer society As historian Massimo Montanari wrote:

“Correcting eating habits, choosing to focus on essential preparations and reducing waste, will be a way to help safeguard the future. By overturning a paradigm dear to the consumer society, our choices will guide the ways of producing.”

In this sense, Journey in Italy promotes food cooperation at an international and national level, enhancing biodiversity as a source of wealth to promote the exchange of knowledge throughout the world. Globalization leads to a homogenization of food and lifestyle that does not contribute to increasing lasting well-being.

Therefore, one of the main challenges that the world must urgently address is the development of educational procedures and processes to promote traditional cuisines and cultural lifestyles such as the Mediterranean Diet, for the health, wealth and well-being of all people, and therefore of the planet. Journey in Italy, starting from individual dynamics (the happiness of the individual) and material food, linked to both sustenance and pleasure -, moves towards universal ideals linked to the desire to contribute concretely to the development of a better world, undermined at the root by deep and sometimes ferocious inequalities, generating conflicts.

Also for this reason, establishing a real dialogue between the Mediterranean Diet and African and Chinese Cuisine represents something much more important than an exchange of ideas related to food.
